Privacy Principles
Because your privacy is important to us, BrokerQA operates by the following principles:
Principle 1.
BrokerQA collects personal information during the course of its business practices. This information includes, but is not limited to, the name and contact information of real estate agents, buyers, sellers and other affiliated individuals and companies. You may update your personal information at any time from within your BrokerQA account by clicking the "Address Book" selection on the navigation bar at the top of the browser screen, and then clicking on the "My information" button on the subsequent screen.
Principle 2.
Your personal information is used only for the purpose of facilitating communication between all people and companies involved in real estate transactions involving a BrokerQA agent or a BrokerQA Transaction Management client. BrokerQA keeps all of your personal information private and does not share it with any third parties that are not related to your real estate sale, purchase and/or transaction, or that do not directly provide real estate services. BrokerQA will not disclose your personal information unless acting under a good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (1) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process; (2) protect and defend the rights or property of BrokerQA; (3) enforce BrokerQA's Terms of Service; or (4) act to protect the interests of its members, agents or other affiliated entities.
Principle 3.
BrokerQA will not send you any unsolicited information, including e-mail, except as discussed below. New buyers, sellers and cooperating agents will receive a BrokerQA welcome letter briefly explaining the features provided by the service. BrokerQA may also contact users to facilitate the purchase and sale of real estate (a "transaction"). Examples of the reasons for such contact may include reminding the user of impending deadlines, resolving problems and issues that arise during a transaction, gathering information needed for the culmination of a successful transaction, and inquiring about related real estate services that may be required. BrokerQA may also contact you to conduct research about your opinion of current and prospective services. BrokerQA's external business partners may from time to time contact you about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. If you click on a link from BrokerQA's web site to the web site of an affiliated company, external partner or other third party entity, be sure to review their privacy statement before sharing your personal information, as BrokerQA is not responsible for their content.
Principle 4.
If at any time you believe that BrokerQA has not adhered to these principles, please notify us by e-mail at MaryLynch@BrokerQA.com and we will use all commercially reasonable efforts to promptly determine and correct the problem.
If you have questions about this policy, please e-mail us at MaryLynch@BrokerQA.com. For more information about our privacy statement, see the following Frequently Asked Questions section.
Frequently Asked Questions regarding privacy
Does BrokerQA use Cookies?
Cookies are pieces of information that a web site transfers to your computer's hard disk for record-keeping purposes. Cookies make the web more useful by storing information about where you are and what you are doing on a particular site. The use of cookies is an industry standard, and many major web sites use them to provide useful features for their customers. Cookies in and of themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. In order to use BrokerQA's web site, you must allow your browser to accept cookies.
How do I correct or change my personal information within BrokerQA?
You may update this information at any time from within your BrokerQA account on BrokerQA's private website by clicking the "Address Book" selection on the navigation bar at the top of the browser screen, and then clicking on the "My information" button on the subsequent screen.
Is my personal information secure from others using the BrokerQA site?
Since the primary purpose of BrokerQA's web site is to facilitate communication between parties involved in real estate transactions, your personal information entered into the BrokerQA is available to everyone involved in your real estate transaction. However, only you and the BrokerQA Agent or Assistant who initially created your Address Book record may change your personal information. Users who are not directly involved in your real estate transaction are unable to view your personal information or view details about your real estate transaction.
Who may access BrokerQA's web site?
Any web user may access BrokerQA's public web site in order to search for display properties for sale and information about BrokerQA agents. Access to BrokerQA's private web site is given to BrokerQA personnel, agents, transaction management clients, and subscribers. In addition, temporary access to BrokerQA's private web site is given to those parties directly involved in real estate transactions being represented by BrokerQA agents, transaction management clients, or subscribers. A user with access to BrokerQA's private web site is given a unique ID and randomly generated password. The ID may not be changed, but the user may change their password by clicking the "Address Book" selection on the navigation bar at the top of the browser screen, and then clicking on the "My information" button on the subsequent screen. Within this screen are two fields where the user may enter a new password (one field for initial entry and one for confirmation).
Is the information secure within BrokerQA's private web site?
Each individual given access to BrokerQA's private web site is restricted to displaying only that data which is directly related to the real estate transaction(s) that they are involved in. The only exception to this is the ability for all users of BrokerQA's private web site to display Address Book records that have been denoted by their creator as "public".
